Brussels will host the European Week of Regions and Cities between October 7 and 10
On October 7, the European Week of Regions and Cities begins in Brussels, which will bring together more than 6,000 participants from all areas of the European Union. The motto of the event used in this edition is “Regions and cities: the pillars of the future of the European Union”.
In its 17th edition, the event will offer more than 300 sessions that include workshops, participatory laboratories, talks and question/answer sessions on selected topics. All of these activities and many more will take place at the European Committee of the Regions headquarters and other regional offices. The sessions are structured around seven general lines of action that cover all priority aspects of the development of European cities and regions:
A Europe closer to the citizen.
The Role of regions and cities in the future of Europe.
A greener Europe.
A smarter Europe.
Mobility in a better connected Europe.
Better social integration in Europe.
The development of innovation in urban environments and Smart Cities They will be transversal elements that run through the entire program but whose epicenter is concentrated in the line of "A smarter Europe" (you can see the program here). The members of the RECI Working Groups who attend the event can find sessions closely linked to their areas of knowledge and that are closely related to the work they carry out at the RECI.
In this way, the members of Working Group 1 may be interested in some of the conferences, in case of “Territorial data” either "Advancing citizens rights at local and regional levels”, both on Tuesday the 8th, linked to the work with data and open government developed by this working group.
