2nd call for aid for 5G pilot projects.

The Council of Ministers approves the 2nd call for aid for 5G pilot projects

On October 4, the Council of Ministers approved a new grant of aid aimed at financing pilot projects based on 5G technology. Thus, Red.es, dependent on the Ministry of Economy and Business (MINECO), will allocate a maximum of 45 million euros for a maximum of eleven projects.

This call, the second of these characteristics, is part of the National 5G Plan. The fundamental objective of this Plan is to promote the development of 5G pilot experiences within the private sector. In a similar way to the first call, the aid is called by Red.es, and is co-financed by FEDER funds. This co-financing format consists of the subsidy of a 40% of the eligible expenses of the projects. The calls are called by CC. AA., with a maximum indicated financing of:

  • Andalusia: €13,000,000.
  • Canary Islands: €1,300,000.
  • Castilla - La Mancha: €1,200,000.
  • Castilla - León: €1,500,000.
  • Catalonia: €5,000,000.
  • Valencian Community: €8,000,000.
  • Extremadura: €1,200,000.
  • Galicia: €5,400,000.
  • Community of Madrid: €5,000,000.
  • Basque Country: €2,200,000.
  • Region of Murcia: €1,200,000.

The opening of the call will be announced in the coming weeks through the Official State Gazette (BOE). Participation in the call for aid may be carried out by both companies and temporary unions of companies established for this purpose. In the first call several RECI cities They have already benefited from this aid for the deployment of 5G pilot projects, in the case of Seville, Huelva or A Coruña.
