Gandía requests its membership in the Spanish Network of Smart Cities

The Plenary of Gandia Town Hall held on December 19, has unanimously approved the request for Gandia to join the Spanish Network of Smart Cities (RECI).

With this upcoming incorporation of Gandía, which joins that of Andújar approved in the previous Board of Directors of the RECI last November, the Spanish Network of Smart Cities closes the year with 84 municipalities and 35 "friendly" cities.

The city council of Gandía is firmly and continuously betting on the innovation and digital transformation of its municipality through participation in networks and various projects linked to innovation such as the Alter Eco project of the European Commission or the launch of two Chairs such as those of Innovation and Smart Tourism, or the beginning of the Smart Office to organize, better organize and professionalize the field of the Smart City.

As its mayor highlighted with this accession to the RECI, “we want to continue making Gandia a smart city. We will all continue working together, very aware that we cannot miss any train of innovation that turns Gandia into a Smart City. We have many challenges ahead.”
