4th Cities Forum 2020 - Porto, January 30-31, 2020

Cities Forum 2020

Organized by the European Commission, the General Directorate for Regional and Urban Policy and the City of Porto, the Cities Forum 2020 It is constituted as a space to reflect on the direction that urban development takes within the cohesion policies included in the Urban Agenda of the European Union in the next period 2021-2027.

Among the topics to be discussed at the event, the first day will fundamentally focus on Smartcities, specifically on how cities develop technological solutions for the management of their activities, sharing the case of the city of Porto through the Porto Innovation Hub. In parallel, a workshop will be held on how to address, from the point of view of Smartcities, the problems derived from the climate and environmental challenge in specific locations in cities. In the afternoon session, two discussion and debate panels will be held on the EU's urban development within its Urban Agenda.

At last November's meeting of the Working Group V, the cities of Málaga, Valencia and Gijón have already presented their Smartcities management platforms, in a process of sharing experiences. This occasion will allow you to learn first-hand how other European cities work on their Smartcities platforms and develop solutions to present and future challenges.
