United for Smart Sustainable Cities Initiative will hold its sixth meeting on December 7
United for Smart Sustainable Cities Initiative will hold its sixth meeting on December 7, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The main objectives of the meeting are:
- Discuss U4SSC activities; - Provide an update on the work of the U4SSC thematic groups; - Approve the Terms of Reference and Annual Work Plan of U4SSC (2021-2022); and - Present the latest U4SSC deliverables.
Conceived as the global platform for deliberations related to the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) for smart and sustainable city transformations, U4SSC is supported by 17 United Nations agencies, including ITU, ECE and UN-Habitat, and with the support of CBD, ECLAC and FAO. , UNDP, UNECA, UNESCO, UNEP, UNEP-FI, UNFCCC, UNIDO, UNOP, UNU-EGOV, UN-Women and WMO.
Since its inception in 2016, U4SSC has published more than 11 reports on a wide range of topics within the smart city ecosystem, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), blockchain, circular cities, financial mechanisms, etc. The full list of published reports can be found here: https://www.itu.int/en/ITU-T/ssc/united/Pages/publications-U4SSC.aspx
